The Chisago County Board of Commissioners seeks one applicant for appointment to the vacant appointment to the Chisago County Planning Commission.  The Planning Commission needs a District 1 appointment.  The Planning Commission’s purpose is to promote the proper planning and development of Chisago County. The Planning Commission is established pursuant to Minnesota State Statute 394 and has the following duties and responsibilities:

This Board shall have the following powers with respect to the Chisago County Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance:

1. To adopt rules for the transaction of its business and shall keep public record of its transactions, findings, and recommendation.

2. To cooperate with the Zoning Administrator and other employees of the County in preparing and recommending to the Board for adoption, comprehensive plans and recommendations for plan execution in the form of official controls and other measures, and amendments thereto.

3. To provide assistance to the County Board and Zoning Administrator in the administration of the zoning and subdivision ordinances and shall review, hold public hearings and make recommendation to the County Board.

4. Such other duties as the County Board may request or prescribe.
