Russell O. Johnson
Russell O. Johnson, longtime Lindstrom business owner and resident, was born May 28 1932 in Milltown, Wisconsin. He died March 11, 2013 at Parmly LifePointes Ecumen residence, in Chisago City.
For 40 years he owned and operated Russ Johnson’s “66” where he worked on cars, did towing, ran a full service gas station, and where many young men got their first jobs.
Russ was retired from the Lindstrom Fire Department, served on the town commercial club, was past president of the snowmobile club, served in the Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War.
He loved his family, his friends; being outdoors deer and moose hunting, cutting wood at the cabin and fishing. Russ loved being part of the Lindstrom Fire Dept. and enjoyed watching NASCAR, and the Twins and Vikings.
Preceded in death by parents Karl and Helen Johnson; step-dad Irving Johnson; brother Ernie (Irene) Johnson, and sisters; Arlene (Karl) Smathers and Lucille (Don) Peterson; infant daughter Rene; brother-in-law John Schoen; sister-in-law Donna Chartrand; and in-laws Florence and John Gustafson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years Beverly and their children: Ronda, Rick(Christine) and Rusty; granddaughter Stephanie (Steve) Pribyl and grandson Trevor Johnson and his fiancee Michelle. Also survived by great grandson Mitchell Pribyl; sister Janice(Chuck) Kruse; brother Kenneth (Cindy) Johnson; sister-in-law Charlotte Schoen; brother-in-law Michael (Barb) Gustafson and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and his many friends.
Memorial service is Saturday March 16, at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom. Visitation from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, Friday, March 15.
