Mildred A. Bremseth

Mildred A. Bremseth, age 87, entered into eternal peace to be with our Lord and Savior on August 20, 2012. She passed away at home with the care and love of her family. Mildred was born to Edward and Anna Gustava (Nelson) Mickelson at their home on June 29, 1925, in Detroit Lakes (Shell Lake Township), MN where she remained until going on to graduate from high school in Frazee, Minnesota in 1943.  The same year she met the love of her life, George Bremseth and was united in marriage on September 4, 1943. They remained sweethearts for 65 1/2 years.  Mildred was a dedicated wife, mother and employee. She worked at Swifts and Kadletz Laundry in Detroit Lakes, was a nursing home cook in Selah, Washington and a homemaker. Mildred and George resided in Detroit Lakes, MN until they moved to Selah, Washington in 1969 and they resided there until 1993, when they moved back to Minnesota to spend time with family. Mildred was a life-long learner who enjoyed gardening, quilting, sewing, crocheting, knitting, painting and shared her many talents and skills with family and friends. Mildred was a very loving and caring person with a big heart. She always welcomed company into her home and would prepare for guests by cleaning and cooking delicious homemade meals. Some of her specialties were Swedish potato dumplings, lefse, homemade noodles and potato salad.  She made many beautiful quilts, crocheted table clothes, and crocheted bedspreads and loved to give them as gifts. She also had a passion for collecting dolls. Mildred is preceded in death by parents, Edward and Anna (Nelson) Mickelson; husband George; son Wayne; brothers Herbert and Lyle and sister Edith Clark. She is survived by loving daughters, Susan (Roger) Neafus and Wanda (Myles) Nelson, sister Ethel Walker, sister- in-law Avis Groth, 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends. She will be greatly missed by family and friends for her huge heart and her walk in faith with the Lord. Funeral services 11 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2012 with visitation at 10 a.m., all at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 300 Seminole Avenue, Osceola, Wisconsin. Luncheon to follow the service. A special thanks to Fairview Lakes HomeCaring & Hospice, the staff at Fairview Lakes Hospital, Pastor Mark Kock, family and friends for their visits, prayers and support.
