Clifton L. Lindo, age 89 of Center City passed away at The Villages in North Branch November 14, 2009.
Clifton was born the son of Frank and Hilda (Larson) Lindo on September 23, 1920.
Clifton was a quiet and kind man who always offered a quick smile. He had been a lifelong resident of Chisago County and member of Chisago Lake Lutheran Church. Clifton spent his life farming. He worked with his family until buying his own farm in 1946. He resided in that residence through 2006. In his later years Clifton enjoyed growing flowers and tending a vegetable garden. After Clifton was no longer able to live alone he moved to The Villages of North Branch where he was very well cared for and well liked by the staff.
Clifton is survived by his loving family: sister-in-law Gertrude Lindo of Chisago City; nieces and nephews Marilyn (Alan) Johnson of Chisago City, Marvin (Kathy) Lindo of Shoreview, Marlene (Dale) Abear of Aitkin, LuAnne (Charles) Cedergren of St. Joseph and Lowell (Kathy) Lindo of Center City; great-nieces and great-nephews cousins, other relatives and friends.
Clifton was preceded in death by his mother and father Frank and Hilda Lindo; siblings Gladys Lindo, Lillie (Carl) Johnson, Reuben Lindo, Melvin Lindo, Donald Lindo, Shirley Lindo, nieces Helen Slattengren and Janice Rambow.
Casket Bearers are Clifton's family and friends.
Funeral Service 1 p.m. Friday Nov. 20, at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church, Center City, with Rev. Craig Lundstad-Vogt officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church. Interment at Hillside Cemetery in Center City.
