Law Enforcement
Two suspects charged in connection with a stabbing incident in Rush City, September 24, 2014, have entered guilty pleas to felony level assault, and will be sentenced in May and June.  

Ashley Marie Gorman, 24, pled to third degree assault in Judge Schoffelman’s courtroom March 5. She will be sentenced May 4.

Roger Bruce Nahl, 30, currently held in Washington County jail, entered a plea to third degree assault and is scheduled for sentencing June 15.

Lakes Area Police collected a stray beagle dog last week and took it to the Northwods Humane Society. The dog was found on North Lakes Trail,  north of Lindstrom.

Law Enforcement
Sheriff deputies and Lindstrom Fire and Lakes Area Police responded to a one car rollover crash near Maxwell and Morgan Avenues Feb. 18 about 4 p.m. The 17-year-old female driver was extricated and received transport for medical care. She apparently slid off the road and rolled.

Law Enforcement
Chisago Lakes Middle School generated a few calls to Lakes Area Police last week, with underage consumption the alleged offense  in a couple of cases, and students who walked away from school.  On Thursday, February 12, officers were made aware of an intoxicated pupil who left the building on foot, she was located and unwillingly taken into custody. Another complaint related to two students consuming an alcoholic beverage on a bus.  And, another walkaway reported and resolved by police Feb 10.

Law Enforcement
February 8 a vehicle went through the ice on West Rush Lake near the channel north of Cigar Island. Report came in about noon.  No injuries reported.

Feb. 6 a large shed burned down at 32378 Hemingway Ave. Report came in at 2 p.m.

Residential burglary on Redfield Blvd. in Shafer, called in about 3:20 p.m. One suspect arrested with assist of several officers.

Lakes Area Police were sent to two school sites over last week both for allegations of assault. One was at the Chisago Lakes middle school and one incident was at the alternative education site, Pathways to Change program in Chisago City.
