9/12/2013 3:48:00 PM Can you help? Outdoor classroom at CL Middle School needs funding
The CLMS outdoor classroom space is taking shape. The garden is fenced, the berm is shaped, the paver path is complete, and five of the raised beds have been constructed. In science classes this fall, students will be planting the berm, constructing the remaining raised beds, as well as sanding and staining the large spools that will be used as tables.
To continue the growth and development of our outdoor classroom space, school officials are asking for your help in the following ways: Donating money toward the purchase of one of twenty trees needed at a cost of $100 each. This donation could be done as an individual, family, or business. Each donation will be recognized with an engraved plate placed near the base of the tree. Meehan Bros Nursery in Shafer has graciously agreed to match donations at a rate of 50 percent up to $2,000. Donating money toward the purchase of materials needed to construct benches located throughout the outdoor classroom space.
Benches will be constructed by Chisago Lakes High School students in Mr. Leffler’s woodworking classes during second and third quarters. The estimated cost of each bench is $50, and the school will require twenty total benches. If you would like to make a tax deductible donation, please make checks payable to CLMS. Donations may be dropped off in the CLMS main office or mailed to CLMS at 13750 Lake Blvd., Lindstrom, MN 55045. Middle School Staff thanks you for your continued support of students, schools and the new outdoor space. This space will be an awesome learning environment for CLMS students for years to come.
