11/1/2012 10:00:00 AM Like making videos? North Branch
'YouTube' video contest underway
School staff, community members and students of North Branch Schools are making videos as part of a YouTube-based contest the district is sponsoring. The videos are to feature in song, in dance or whatever moves you-- something great about North Branch Schools...it might be the people, the lunches, the locker room, the playgrounds....anything. North Branch District administrators figured the best way to tell others about positive district happenings was to have others do the telling. District officials put together the video contest as one avenue to tap into a wellspring of creativity they know is out there, and to reach the desired student-aged clientele who are using the popular video-sharing website. Anyone who has a song to sing or a skit to videotape or any artsy way to share their favorite thing about the district can upload the entry and perhaps win a $50 “Vikings Bucks” prize. Use the money for an activity pass, to help pay for a parking spot, for school colorwear or a host of other items. You might even see your winning entry shown at North Branch Cinema during the on screen commercials shown before the movie. To submit; use your webcam or videotape device to upload your piece onto YouTube. Send a link to NBAPSisgreat@northbranch.k12.mn.us. The best-”liked” entries as chosen by the public on YouTube, are in the semi-finals.
