Curriculum Director - Sarah Schmidt Chisago Lakes School District welcomes Sarah Schmidt to the position of Director of Curriculum and Communications. Schmidt is assuming the position previously held by Lolene Borsheim. Schmidt is a St. Croix Falls resident and was a 12 year teacher of Social Studies in Wisconsin prior to receiving her license in administration and as a director of curriculum and instruction. While teaching high school in Wisconsin, she was active in chairing RTI leadership teams, providing professional development and mentoring to new staff, and serving as an advisor and coach for many student activities and organizations. She will assume supervisory responsibility for the district’s curriculum development, standards implementation, testing program and staff development in addition to general communications tasks for the district. Sarah and her husband have three children, who attend school in St. Croix Falls. HS Associate Principal - Carrie Hoffman Carrie Hoffman graduated from Metropolitan State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice in 2002, and was employed as a residential counselor for five years (2002-2006) at Bush Memorial Children’s Center. There, she began graduate school at Bethel University and graduated with a Masters in Special Education, and obtained a teaching license in Emotional Behavioral Disorders and Severe Learning Disabilities. In 2007-2011, she worked as an EBD and LD special education teacher for the Chisago Lakes School District. In the 2011-2012 school year, Hoffman served as the Program Director, for Level 4 program, Pathway to Change. While working as a Program Director for the Pathway to Change, she began the 6th Year Certificate program through St. Cloud State University and just recently completed the certificate program. She holds a principal and special education director’s license through St. Cloud State University. Last May, Carrie and her husband moved to Chisago City, and they are expecting their first child in December.
