Early Childhood Screening is mandatory before entry into kindergarten. Your child would typically participate in screening near his/her fourth birthday. If your child has not participated, call to 651.674.1220 to make an appointment. Screening is scheduled for the second Thursday evening of each month; October – May. Screening is an early look at a child’s development and is conducted by qualified professionals to help identify specific needs a child may have in these areas: • Fine and Gross Motor Skills • Vision and Hearing • Speech and Language Development •• Cognitive and Social Development • Immunizations The State of Minnesota requires a health and development screening for every child before kindergarten entry into a public school. The North Branch Area Public Schools District offers this service at no cost. Screening should be completed before a child turns 4 years old, specifically between the ages of 3 1/2 and 4. Appointments are scheduled for the second Thursday evening of each month; October – May.
