Chisago Lakes High School DECA Chapter has 10 students qualify for state!

Staff

The Chisago Lakes High School DECA (An Association of Marketing Students) chapter participated in this year's District 4 Competitive Events Conference on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 11 and 12 at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center in Plymouth.

Congratulations to the following 10 students who qualified for the DECA State Conference: Kelsey Braski (junior), Hannah Swenson (junior), Lauren Althaus (junior), Dylan Lentz (junior), Morgan Johnson (junior), Annalisa Serbus (senior), Nick Maier (senior), Ali Turnquist (senior), Tim Welle (senior), and Linda Jindra (senior).

This year's conference was attended by 475 students from 12 schools within District 4 in the state of Minnesota. Successful events for Chisago Lakes students were sales demonstrations, technical sales for a GPS navigation system, and the individual/team role play events.

By finishing in the top 12 of their events, students qualify for the DECA State Competitive Events Conference in March. At the state conference, winners from all six Minnesota districts get together and compete for the opportunity to move on to the National Conference.

A special thanks from chapter advisor Tim Turnquist and all DECA students, to Scott Bakken (MainTrax), David Patchen (MainTrax), Josh Fagan (Coldwell Banker Burnet/Bruce Fagan and Associates), Erin Thorvaldson (Coldwell Banker Burnett/Bruce Fagan and Associates), and Greg Shaleen (Shaleen Team-ERA Muske) for volunteering their time as judges this year! This event cannot be successful without the assistance of over 120 adult volunteers to judge the events.
