11/30/2017 11:02:00 AM NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
on the SHIELDS LAKE STORMWATER PROJECT
(November 30; December 7, 2017)
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that at a public hearing on Thursday, December 21, at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers at the Forest Lake City Hall, 1408 Lake Street South, Forest Lake, MN 55025, the Comfort Lake-Forest Lake Watershed District (CLFLWD) Board of Managers will receive public comment under Minnesota Statutes 103B.251 on the ordering of the Shields Lake Stormwater Harvest and Irrigation Reuse Project.
The estimated cost for the Shields Lake Project is $876,000. Of this amount, $700,800 would be supplied by a Minnesota Clean Water Fund grant and the remainder would be supplied by the CLFLWD through an ad valorem tax levy on real property within the watershed. The project will impound and harvest water from a tributary to Shields Lake for irrigation reuse by Forest Hills Golf Course. The project is predicted to result in a phosphorus load reduction of 77 pounds per year to Shields Lake, as well as an irrigation water supply up to 26 million gallons per year for use by the golf course.
