Jake Novack (113) won by major decision 12-0 over Ryan Lund of Rogers for the Wildcats’ only first place finish at the Chisago Lakes Holiday Tourney last Friday, December 15. The Wildcats finished fifth overall as a team, despite filling just nine of the 14 weight classes. Grand Rapids and Rogers tied for first.
Novack pinned his first two opponents, Billy Lee of North St. Paul and Dusty Wilke of Grand Rapids, to get to the championship match. In the championship match at 285, Zach Carlson was pinned by Elijah Larson-Cheerier of Howard Lake Waverly Winstead at 1:15 and finished second. Ryan Leibel came in third at 120. Isaiah Sistrunk (132) won four of his five matches on the day and finished fifth.

Wrestling Notes The Wildcats will head to Cambridge tonight for a triangular with North Branch and the hosts, the Cambridge-Isanti Bluejackets. The Wildcats are scheduled to take on the Bluejackets at 4:30 p.m., followed by a dual with the Vikings.
