Wildcats trip up Duluth East
at Tartan Holiday Tournament
Chisago Lakes 54, Duluth East 48
The Chisago Lakes boys basketball team has had a mixed bag, or should we say stocking, of success at the Tartan Holiday Tournament this week. They were defeated by former North Suburban Conference foe Spring Lake Park in the first round of the tourney, but then bounced back to best the Duluth East Greyhounds in the second round 54-58. The Wildcats were led by sophomore Dylan Wood, who scored 16 points for Chisago Lakes. Using Wood down low, CL jumped out to a 10 point halftime lead that they were able to hold on to throughout the second half. Jakob Lindquist added 11 points, Mitch Berg had nine and Quinton Lee added seven points for the Wildcats. Chisago Lakes wrapped up the tournament by playing Centennial on Monday, Dec. 30 after The Press went to print. After the Christmas break, the Wildcats dive headlong into their Mississippi 8 Conference schedule. They host Cambridge-Isanti on Tuesday, January 7 at 7:15 p.m. before going on the road for two contests against Rogers and Princeton.
