A theft was reported July 31 from a pole shed in Sunrise on Kost Trail. Loss is about $1,000 in tools. A residence on Iris Avenue in Harris was the site of a large pile of palets burning. Incident reported about 9:30 p.m. July 31. Homeowner was advised to extinguish fire and get a burning permit.
July 30 about 3,000 feet of fiber optic cable was reported stolen from Frontier worksite on Quinlan Avenue in Franconia Twsp. Repairs to Rush City Jacobsen Elementary School were estimated to run almost $1,500 due to vandalism reported last week. Deputies spoke with juvenile-aged suspects who are also implicated in earlier school vandalism that took place around county fair time. Formal charges are pending county attorney review.
August 4 about 7 a.m. a passenger car went off County Road 36/Ivywood, in Chisago City. It broke off a powerpole, cutting power to a small number of homes in the immediate vicinity. No injury reported to the 28- year-old driver, from Circle Pines who told police the sun was in his eyes.
