Infant in van-school bus crash
April 18 in North Branch has died
North Branch Police, state patrol and sheriff’s deputies are investigating a school bus and van collision at the intersection of Forestview Drive and Forest Blvd. (Cty Road 30) reported Thursday, April 18 about 5:15 p.m.
North Branch Police say a 4-month-old, Mackenzie Cash, was transported to Amplatz U of M hospital, where she died April 20. Drivers were treated at Fairview Lakes and released. They are identified as Joshua Cash and North Branch Area School Dist. bus driver Kim Schwinn, Rush City. The school bus was not carrying any students at the time.
Preliminary information is the poor road conditions contributed to the incident. The bus involvement is under regulation of the Commercial Vehicle Inspection Division and is being reviewed, according to a news release from North Branch Sgt. Sapp.
