1/10/2013 9:27:00 AM Two North Branch companies fined in 2012 by MPCA
The Tiller company failure to get a state permit for its facility in North Branch wasn’t the only enforcement action pursued in North Branch, in 2012. The year-end enforcement action listings for the MN Pollution Control Agency included administrative penalty orders (both filed in June) against ATV Salvage and against Environmental Stoneworks. The two companies have since qualified for their required industrial stormwater permits and paid a penalty that included the price of the permit. Enforcement officer Adam Gulsvig (now employed with the Dept of Labor and Industry) told the Chisago County Press the MPCA “considers these enforcement cases officially closed.” The fines reported as assessed against these two were a total of $4,300 for failing to obtain permits and/or failing to make payment on an annual stormwater permit.
