One reported in critical condition after three vehicle Hwy. 61 crash

Wyoming and Forest Lake Police and State Patrol responded to a three-vehicle crash near the #61 and 250th intersection at Maranatha Church, about 3:30 p.m. Thursday, January 3.

Preliminary information released by the state patrol is that a total of four passengers and three drivers were involved. Daniel Eifert, 62, Christine Ostlund, 46 and Artemio Herrera Franco, 39 were identified as passengers who received medical care for minor injuries. A Pine City woman, driving a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu was reportedly making a left turn into the church drive, and stopped southbound on #61, when a 1998 Ford van struck from behind.

Patricia Mabey, 36, was ejected from her Malibu upon impact but her injuries were later described as non life-threatening. Her passener, 15-year-old Bryce Koenig, of Pine City, is reported in critical condition. The driver of the van was not identifid by state patrol, but was reportedly adjusting a sunvisor when she hit the Malibu. The Malibu was pushed into the oncoming traffic lane and hit a northbound 2002 Windstar minivan. The Windstar driver was also not identified.
