Juvenile tied to NBHS shooting threat to enter residential treatment facility The 17-year-old North Branch male, arrested for threatening to use a firearm at North Branch High School in February, will be getting treatment in a residential in-patient facility. He must stay away from all North Branch school buildings and grounds, and write an apology to school officials for his conduct.
Monticello spoils North Branch's shot at state hockey tournament In last Thursday’s Section 5A Championship Game between the Vikings and the Monticello Magic, Monticello’s Jack Saunders scored on a shot from the right point to break a 1-1 tie at 13:12 of the third period. Monticello added two more goals, including an empty-netter with five seconds left, to make the final score 4-1. The loss ended the best season in North Branch High School hockey history. Monticello will go to the state tournament for the second year in a row. The game was played at Elk River Ice Arena.

Small engines program outgrows Wyoming home, now at FLHS The youth mechanics program “Tried and True” has been housed since 2015 at a shop in the city of Wyoming. The Lakes Center for Youth & Families mechanics skills program started to outgrow its space, and, through a great collaboration process with a local school district, the small engines program has found a new home at Forest Lake High School.
